BILLABONG SAMPLE SALE
During a recent trip to Kauai’s neigboring island of Oahu, these pieces were picked up at the Billabong sample sale. I’m loving the beachy theme and super casual flowy styles.
FADED GLORY WOMEN’S HOODED PUFFER JACKET
I’ll be taking a short hour and a half flight to the BIG ISLAND next week to spend some time with friends. One of the first things on our to do list will be to drive to the top of MAUNA KEA. The top of Mauna Kea is covered in snow right now so my friends and I are excited to see if there’s enough snow to make snow angels. I didn’t want to break the bank when looking for a thick jacket because I won’t be needing it once I get back down from the mountain. I purchased one from Walmart called FADED GLORY WOMEN’S HOODED PUFFER JACKET for $20. It’s your typical puffer jacket but very light and not too insulated which is what I wanted. I will be posting pictures once I get there on my twitter account. I land in Hilo so I will be spending most of my time on that side of the island. I’m not sure if we have it in our plans to see any active volcanoes. If we do, I will share pictures.
MY NEW SHORTS FROM VOLCOM
A girl living in Hawaii can never have too many shorts even if it’s almost the end of the fall season. The weather today was 77 degrees. Most of our days will be nice and warm even during the winter season so I’m always on the lookout for clothes that will keep me cool. My new shorts from VOLCOM came in today and they are exactly what I wanted. The shorts are made from 98% cotton and 98% elastane but the material is very soft and buttery almost like velvet. I have other shorts from Volcom and the high quality and low price point is hard to beat. When searching the web and stores for shorts, jeans, skirts and other bottoms, I always check to see whats new at Volcom. This style is called FRICKIN 2 1/2″ SHORT and the style number is B0911213 and sells for $39.50

SARONGS, PAREOS OR THE MOST SIMPLE BEACH COVERUP
As a native of Kauai I prefer to call these creations of art pareos. Most people know them as sarongs. On an island, these are handy pieces of fabric because they can be used for so many different things. My favorite uses out of them are skirts, swimsuit coverups or a beach towel if I don’t want to carry a bulky terry cloth towel. There are many sarong companies to order from. The one I recommend would be 1 World Sarong. They seem to have an endless selection of colors and prints to choose from including solids and half sarongs. I’v included e a 1 minute VIDEO on how to tie a sarong into a skirt. This is my favorite way to use a sarong. You would need a half sarong for this type of style.

ADIDAS WORKOUT SHORTS
Thanks to all the 2011 KAUAI MARATHON runners, I was inspired to share a review on my Adidas training shorts. have 2 pairs. The women’s training energy pacer shorts and women’s varsity training shorts. Both have a 3″ inseam and is made of climate fabric which sweeps sweat away from your skin. It includes an liner brief for comfort and an elastic drawstring elastic waist. The varsity shorts have a mesh insert for extra comfort. Both are made of 100% polyester. The energy pacer shorts retail for $25 and the varsity shorts retail for $20. I use mine for high impact classes as well as yoga and zumba. During yoga classes the shorts don’t bunch up in the thigh area and the liner brief gives you extra privacy during the leg stretches. During high impact and zumba classes the shorts don’t ride up or down leaving you to focus on your workout and not your outfit.
