THE ORIGINAL BEAUTY BLENDER
After years of using brushes, sponges and my fingers to apply my daily tinted moisturizer, I have finally found my secret blending weapon. Unlike brushes which leave streaks and triangular/flat square/flat circle foundation sponges that never seem to blend right and fingers that get the job done but always unevenly, the BEAUTY BLENDER works perfectly. I first tried using it damp but that seemed to mess with the consistency of my tinted moisturizer so I stopped using it that way. I also tried applying the tinted moisturizer to the Blender first and then applying it to my face but that didn’t work either, both dry and damp. I now use it dry by applying my tinted moisturizer with my fingers first and then blending it with the Blender in a circular motion around my face. The look I’m able to achieve is natural and flawless. Cleanup is easy and quick. After each use, I wash the Blender with antibacterial hand soap and water and wring out the excess water. I then put a towel in my palm with the Blender in the middle and make a fist around the Blender. This gets out a lot of the moisture left in the Blender. I then leave it out to dry on one of my bathroom vases. Depending on the day, the Blender is dry within a few hours and ready for it’s next use. Normally I would never spend $36 on two sponges but I had a gift card that allowed me to have a discount off my total order and after all the positive feedback, I figured I’d like it as much as everyone else. I’m super happy I decided to give it a try.
MAC LIPGLASS, LUSTREGLASS AND CREMESHEEN GLASS
My daughter likes the MAC LIPGLASS and LUSTREGLASS lip glosses. She uses them all the time. I find them to be very sticky. I do however love the CREMESHEEN GLASS lip gloss. It’s one of my favorites. I have problem lips and I find it to be very moisturizing and slightly creamy without any stickiness. It also goes on very light and has no heavy feel when adding two coats for a deeper color. I’m almost through using my current color in Looks Like Sin which goes perfect against my olive toned skin. I will be purchasing a new color in this style very soon. I couldn’t get a good shot for the Lustreglass and Cremesheen glass lip glosses because the sun was a little higher by the time I took those shots. Please pardon the pictures from being out of focus.
L’OREAL PARIS INFALLIBLE 24 HOUR EYE SHADOW
The L’OREAL PARIS INFALLIBLE 24 HOUR EYE SHADOW lives up to it’s name. This stuff comes off when you are ready to take it off. Worn alone, there can be some creasing even though it claims to have none. Paired with a really good eyeshadow primer, there’s more staying power and no creasing. I’ve used this product both as an eyeshadow and an eyeliner. It’s very easy to over do it when applying this as an eyeshadow because the color is so rich. Using very little at a time and applying softly works best. The color is too bold for a daytime look but perfect for a night out. What I love most about this product is you get high end quality for around $6 – $7.

MAC FEELING FLUSH MINERALIZE BLUSH
My blush of choice for the past 4 months has been the MAC FEELING FLUSH MINERALIZE BLUSH. The color leaves me with the perfect color of pink on my cheeks. I typically swipe my blush brush once over the blush mound. This gives me more than enough color for one cheek. Paired with the MAC MINERALIZE SKIN FINISH, the combo has been great for day wear. This color can’t be found anymore at MAC because this color came out a while ago but it is available at AMAZON.COM

MABELLINE BABY LIPS
This product was pretty hard to find here on Kauai. It was sold out of drug stores when it first came out so I had to wait for the second shipment of lip balms to arrive. I personally didn’t like this product because it felt waxy on my lips and it didn’t seem to soften my lips like I thought it would so I passed it on to my teenage daughter. She’s been using it for a few weeks and she really likes it. It softens her lips and gives her a tiny hint of color on days when she wants to put more emphasis on her eye color rather than her lip color. She also likes that it has SPF protection in it making it a product she sometimes puts on first before applying her lipstick or lipgloss color of the day. I purchased this product for a little over $3.

MAC MINERALIZE EYE SHADOW DUO
I’m a big fan of the Mac mineralize eye shadow because of its sheer and lightweight powder formula. My all time favorite is the quartz fusion that came out a while ago with the perfect amount of glitter in it making it wearable both day and night. I’m also a big fan of liner sealer. I’ve found that liner sealers will sometimes seal your eye shadow color making it useless for future use. That’s not the case with the Mac mineralize eye shadow. I can use it as an eye shadow and as an eyeliner with my liner sealer and the pods do not freeze up or change it’s mineralized formula. These are available in 6 colors. The color shown is in Thunder and Rain. For more information go to MACYS.COM

LANCOME PRESSED POWDER
I love the new LANCOME TRANSLUCENCE MATTIFYING SILKY PRESSED POWDER. August and September are the hottest months in Hawaii and this is the time when my face decides it will be at it’s all time oiliest. Prior to testing this product I was using SHISEIDO PURENESS OIL CONTROL BLOTTING PAPER which worked really well but I needed something more. After 2 weeks of use in hot, sweaty and humid weather, this product has passed the test with flying colors and is now my constant companion when out and about. It claims to have 12 hours of shine control but in my environment, I get shine control for up to 4 hours with the help of a facial primer. I love the finely milled pressed powder. I gives me coverage without looking or feeling like I have anything on my skin. After 4 hours, I do a touchup by blotting my face with the blotting paper and adding another layer of powder over my t zone. My hunt to find the perfect beauty product that will keep me shine free continues but in the mean time, this helps out a lot.
